from the almond farm

Fat Uncle Farms, specifically. I’m nearly addicted to their blistered almonds. Sea salt, Chinese (with fennel and garlic!), and the coconut/honey/sea salt combo is literally to die for.

You can find them at the Santa Monica farmer’s market on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Make sure you taste ALL of their flavors at least once. And get the frequent buyer’s punch card! I am only 4 bags away from a free bag. Yay.

Also, I’ve been forced to buy their almond butter (in a cute little jar!) and almond paste. So um, what should I make with my marzipan? I love marzipan, I do. But I do not think I will be making homemade bear claws anytime soon. Please help with ideas. In the meantime I’ve been forced to eat little bits straight from the tub. And it’s getting weird.

extraordinary embroidery

Wouldn’t these be so beautiful framed??? I need a little sweater D for D’s room.

From the crafty genius of Maricor/Maricar, who has so so much beautiful work. I may need to email them about a teeny commission. Or get serious about embroidery? Haaa. No. We will leave such things to professionals.

design/story

Do you guys shop design/story? It’s kind of awesome, though I’ve admittedly never purchased anything. It’s like Gilt or One Kings Lane, but for neat, designy, modern things.

And they often have kids stuff too. Like tomorrow when the Offi Kids sale starts.

As with all good deals on the internet, one occasionally prefers to keep them to herself, so she may reap the benefits whilst others go on unaware of what they are missing. But considering I so far only window shop, I think I should share the wealth.

a perfect summer tote

Spotted this striped tote at the Splendid store this weekend. I’ve been thinking about it incessantly since.

It also comes is plain navy and olive, if stripes aren’t your thing. And it’s only $128, which seems reasonable for a bag I will use for a purse for the entire summer?

A busy guy

Walking is so yesterday. Now we run. Everywhere. In circles.

It’s impossible to get a photo of the little dude anymore. He’s never been a poser and now he won’t hold still for even two seconds. Plus if he sees the camera he runs over to it and tries desperately to put the lens cap back on. Sadly I can’t focus with a little face 1.5 inches from the camera.

It’s cute and all, but not very good for the actual taking of photos. I tried for an hour yesterday (100 photos in all) and this was the best I could get.

Cute stripey shirt from Hanna Andersson, who also makes great striped PJs, and soft sticky socks (perfect for new walkers!).
