Spring purchases

I’ve been feeling VERY shoppy as of late. I’m just going to admit it. Part of it is probably the fact that I can’t in fact buy myself any cute clothes because I am huge and about to have a baby and then be fat for 8 months (yay!). But I’ve made do with non-apparel purchases. Can you spot a theme?

I’m thinking coral might be the color of the season. I’m not going to feel bad about buying everything I find that I love in that shade.

Finally treated myself to the Clare Vivier bando bag that I’ve had my eye on for approximately two years. In Poppy, of course! (It’s available on Shop Pretty Mommy, but I couldn’t wait so I picked it up at Vivier & Bentley in Silverlake.)

Melanie and I made a trip to Heath and bought everything we could in their new summer collection, including the cute cork-topped canisters. And the ramekins, and a bud vase, and I want everything else too. I posted an Instagram of their summer tablescape. Is to die for.

Coral peonies, natch.

These adorable bracelets from Voz, available in the Pop-Up Shop until tonight at 6 PM. There are sooo many cute ones.

And a teeny Gap treat for new bebe. Their spring things are adorbs.

Shall I list all the things I still want? That might be a little overboard. Maybe I will save for another post… there are some good ones lined up.

Loves of late

My dream kitchen in Martha January.

These simple candle holders from Commune Design and Adam Silverman/Heath. (Also these leather coasters.)

This circus themed collection at Baby Gap. Took much restraint not to buy SOMETHING. (Waiting for the sale, obvs.)

Estella NYC stripey tees on super sale. I love them so much! But they run small, so beware.

Beautiful flower prints from Kari Herer.

These new undies have definitely replaced Hanky Pankys in my book. Seamless is so the way to go.

These Chilewich utility mats have appeared in three rooms in our house. I love them. (Also love Grounded in Encinitas! Super cute, modern store.)

And current must-have every day? Homemade almond milk. I’m not sure it qualifies as a craving, per se. But I was very out of sorts the other night when I didn’t have any for my after dinner treat. I love you Vitamix.

31 Bits in the Pop-Up Shop

Hi-dee-ho! We haven’t had a Pop-Up Shop post in a while, have we? I like the philosophy behind 31 Bits and their jewelry is pretty cute too.

Thought some of you might be interested in making a discount purchase, ya? Head over to the Pop-Up Shop for some shopping if you like.

Recent Etsy wants

How about for Friday we all just window shop a bit? I haven’t trolled Etsy for a good while, but last night I got stuck, and here’s what I found.

Love this vintage linen wall hanging for a mod kitchen (the entire shop is amazing),
this bright potholder from Pamwares,
that beautiful blue skirt and blouse for fall,
these gorgeous garters would have convinced me to wear one for our wedding,
and I’m fairly certain I’m not going to make it through the day without purchasing one of these awesome necklaces.

Hope you all have a beautiful weekend. We have no plans (YAY), except dinner out with some friends. It’s going to be perfect.

A beach tent

I didn’t know I needed this, but now it’s very clear that I do. A beach tent from Australian company Hollie & Harrie.

Maybe I can have one shipped to the condo in Hawaii so we have it for vacation in two weeks. I’m feeling very desperate for it, can you tell? It seems so perfect for having a little one at the beach.

One Love Organics

I’ve been meaning to post on One Love Organics for about 4 months now. I know none of you are surprised, given my recent posting frequency. But srsly, these products are amazing. Kendra (the Chief Creative Office of One Love) is a friend and generously gave me the entire line to try out in March. I’ve been using it since and I really really love it. Those of you out there who hate the idea of slathering your skin (and biggest organ!) with a bunch of chemicals in the name of youthful skin will love their products.

There are only 4 and they’re really all you need. Each one is multi-use, 100% pure, all natural, waterless, and comes from the highest quality ingredients. And they all smell so yummy in a very perfect, non-perfumey way.

I’m finally posting about them today because, (big surprise!), they’re in the Pop-Up Shop this week! It’s such a crazy deal, you guys. You can pick up their entire line for $118, which is 55% off the retail price. Or try a product or two to start. I love the scrub (use it every morning) and the balm (use it all the time!). We use the cleanser as our family face wash and to wash Dashiell’s hair and body. Cannot wait for them to come out with the family size soon. The balm works as a cleanser, a moisturizer, make-up remover, lip conditioner, even eye cream and a dewy base under mineral make-up. And I’ve used to for diaper rash too!

I know that I became much more concerned or at least conscious of the products we were using in our house after Dashiell was born, and I think it’s amazing that there’s a skin care line that the whole family can use. It’s natural, but doesn’t FEEL like you’re using a crunchy granola line from Whole Foods that doesn’t really work. It feels like you’re using high end products that really will keep your skin looking freshly-facialized. And my favorite part, which I will say again, there are only 4 products. Which means less crap in your medicine cabinet and less stuff in your life. I do love less stuff.

Did I sell you on it yet? If you need more convincing, you can see the post we did today on 100LC and you can check out One Love Organics‘ site where they explain why they are the most bestest line available.

I really really genuinely love this line. And I will personally be making a few purchases this week. Must stock up while it’s discounted, right? If you want to try it, you should definitely do it now while it’s on super sale in the Pop-Up Shop!

Bountiful cake plates in the Pop-Up Shop!

I promise I won’t post every single sale we have over here too, but this one is too good. For any of you who have popped into Bountiful on Abbot Kinney, you’re probably familiar with the gorgeous, candy-colored cake plates stacked to the ceiling. We have them on sale, in the Pop-Up Shop, for just a few days this week.

And the matching domes are pretty gorgeous too. At least go take a look… looking never hurt.

Perfect summer nail polish: Clambake

I may have stumbled on the most perfect summer polish color, ever.

This weekend I had my nails done at a friend’s second baby shower. It’s that perfect for a second baby? Lunch and mani/pedis. Just something simple to celebrate the mama before things get crazy for her.

And first time since January I’ve had my toes properly painted. Why don’t I do this more?!? Just the foot massage is totally worth it.

Say hello to Essie Clambake. The most delicious creamy red-orange summer toe polish, with an even more delightful name. Makes me feel like I’m spending the summer wearing boat-neck striped tees and bikini bottoms and big straw hats on a ritzy east coast beach. (Which I am not.) (But still.)

The 100 Layer Cake Pop-Up Shop is here!

One of the many reasons my posting has been sporadic as of late…

100 Layer Cake Pop Up Shop

We’re been working our butts off to get the next part of our site off the ground. And this morning the Pop-Up Shop launched. How do you spell RELIEF?!! That was like giving birth all over again.

We’ll be doing one sale a week featuring different wedding, event, and craft-friendly retailers. Our summer calendar is already almost full and we are so excited to have this baby out there! And we have lots more in store for the coming months.

Hope to see some of you over there! I promise we’ll have plenty of pretty things that are perfect for non-brides and former brides too.

a load of tea towels

I was doing some snooping around yesterday for an InStyle article for 100LC and got lost in the tea towel selection on etsy. There were so many pretty ones, I had to share.

From Skinny Laminx, Leah Duncan (love her stuff!!!!), Claudia Pearson, Knife in the Water, Margot Bianca, Katherine J. Lee, Frog Goes to Market, Giardino, and the sold out Lotta Jansdotter. Hrrrmmphf.

Have a sunny weekend!
