Geronimo Balloons on sale in the Pop-Up Shop!

This sale is too good not to share, you all. Gorgeous, special edition balloons from Geronimo are in the Pop-Up Shop this week. I think there are still some brides-to-be out there reading this blog, but for the rest of you, how pretty would they be for a baby shower or birthday party or really any festive event? 50% off this week, peeps.

The 100 Layer Cake Pop-Up Shop is here!

One of the many reasons my posting has been sporadic as of late…

100 Layer Cake Pop Up Shop

We’re been working our butts off to get the next part of our site off the ground. And this morning the Pop-Up Shop launched. How do you spell RELIEF?!! That was like giving birth all over again.

We’ll be doing one sale a week featuring different wedding, event, and craft-friendly retailers. Our summer calendar is already almost full and we are so excited to have this baby out there! And we have lots more in store for the coming months.

Hope to see some of you over there! I promise we’ll have plenty of pretty things that are perfect for non-brides and former brides too.

Seaside and a wedding

Very tardy with these, I’m well aware. But here they are, finally. Seaside is, like all of you said, beautiful. It’s such a perfect family vacation town. Tiny, next to the beach, has a coffee shop, a farmer’s market, a fresh juice trailer, and bikes for rent. What more do you need, really?

I had no idea how pretty that part of Florida was. It’s really gorgeous, pine trees and white sand and everything. The only minor issue… I managed to get home with approximately zero photos of the cute town and gorgeous landscape. Not even one of the beach. OOOPS. But I have a few of the wedding festivities that I thought I’d share anyway. Most of the photos from the weekend ended up being of friends and babies. But here are a few of the celebration.

I assume you’ve seen the video of the little guy in action?

Isn’t Deja’s dress so cute?? Stripes!

Thank you all so much for your recommendations! We put them to good use and definitely wished we would have stayed an extra week. Perhaps we’ll be back for another visit.

Deja’s kraft paper gocco’d invites

My dear friend Deja is getting married in (according to her count) 47 days. How do I know this? She tells me every time we talk. It’s so cute. Plus her shower was on Saturday so I just got an update.

I helped her out with her pretty kraft paper invites and they are finally finished and mailed and in most people’s hands. Which is so exciting. I love it sending a project off to it’s final destination.

The little touch of gold ink really gussied them up, don’t you think? I’m in love with gold on kraft at the moment.

We tied them up with black and white baker’s twine and pretty vintage gold thread. Such a cute little package.

Next I think we’re going to tea dye shipping tags for her escort cards. Yay.

Weekend business

Hitched was this weekend in Palm Springs. It was super cute and lots of fun, but it meant that the entire week was full of frantic snipping and tying and styling for Amanda and me. And driving. Lots of driving. But there was dancing too, which made it totally worth it.

And a little peek of our table. I am a crazy person and spent all last week embroidering the sampler. WAY underestimated how long that would take.

Also, I finally got to meet Jamie and Elizabeth in person. That was awesome. And thanks so much for saying hi Courtney! Your little girl is so cute.

More photos from the pros on 100LC soon.

Cactus & Quail is here!

Jaime has been working on this little project for some time now (along with the teeny project in her belly!) and I’m so excited that she finally launched Cactus & Quail! It’s a week of launches, isn’t it? She’s got such a great indie design style and her invite model is so cool. You buy the illustration, add your custom text, download the file, and print it yourself at home! Or she’ll do totally custom work too. Plus she’s got a little Flea Market where you can buy prints and other little projects that she concocts.

Cute, no? I ordered my bamboo birdie ornament this morning. So excited to have a little Jamie project on our tree! Shoot, I definitely should have added one of her rad pink and brown prints to my purchase. Must go back.

AND, she’s also one of my sponsors over there in the left column. Say hello, sponsors! They’re a great bunch of ladies and they’d probably like some company, so anyone who thinks their little project would be a good fit for my readers, email me! Rates are cheap, since I’m just starting out and all.

It’s here you guys. Finally. It’s kind of hard to believe, I’m the first to admit. We’ve been talking about this and working on it for soooo long. But yesterday we just sort of held our breath and flipped the switch. And now it’s out there!

Amanda and I designed it. Do you like? It was such a fun project. It’s like all the years we’ve spent doing web design for other companies/start-ups/people have finally made sense. We got to do our very own site! And we have like 1 mm things we want to fix, add, update. But that’s all part of the process.

Go check it out.

We did a post yesterday explaining the main features, if you’re curious.

air plants and umbrellas

Did anyone else see this insanely amazing wedding from Feather Love? Not sure exactly where I stumbled on it yesterday but the air plants got me. It’s creative in a way that only Flora Grubb could be (the groom is Flora’s brother). I’m thinking air plants might be the new succulent? Which would be nice because while I love love love succulents to death and used them for my own wedding, I’m starting to feel that they are becoming a wee bit tiresome when it comes to wedding decor.

Don’t get me wrong, I will love them for always in the same way that I love mason jars. But I want to see something new and inspired from time to time too.

Just look here and then go see the entire 4 day event including a HUGE party at Flora Grubb Gardens after the actual wedding in Carmel on Feather Love’s blog.

How amazing is the huge Tillandsia bouquet? Gorgeouso. The bride is beautiful too, which always helps. Sometimes I want dark thick indie model hair with bangs too. But it would look real weird with my freckles I think.

Final thought: if your name was Flora Grubb, could you do anything EXCEPT open a beautiful garden shop? No. No you couldn’t.

the weekend: wedding

I didn’t take all that many pictures, actually. When you have an awesome photographer on hand, it seems silly to take photos yourself, you know? But I did take a few during the actual rehearsal because Michèle hadn’t arrived yet…

a rather large wedding party, all lined up and waiting for instructions

here comes the bride (and her dad)

I can’t wait to see their real photos. So excited so excited so excited.

Michael from the Flashdance was the dance party DJ and he was in. sane. Like totally killed it. I haven’t had that much fun in months, seriously. Blatant, shameless promotion here, but if you’re looking for a DJ you HAVE to hire him. I’m certain that if someone else had been on the tables, the party would have been way less fun. As Melanie said, he’s like musical crack. And if our wedding was next year, instead of last year, I would hire him in a nanosecond.

While we were milling about the lobby, waiting for photos to begin, one of you lovely readers stopped me and said hello (What’s up Melissa!). OMG. I cannot believe that there are people who read my blog often enough that they would recognize me. Thanks so much for saying hi Melissa. The wedding was amazing and you should totally plan yours at L’Auberge, if you can convince them to squeeze in a few more people for the ceremony. And hire Michael!

Besides a lot of wedding fun, I went to a yoga class taught my first friend in san diego (we met in kindergarten), Wren. Anyone in north county looking for a sweet little studio with an excellent instructor should definitely drop by her class. She teaches Saturday at 9:00 am and Thursday at 7:00 pm.

And we managed to squeeze in a stop at Roberto’s on the way out of town. I haven’t had Robertos in probably 10 years. OMG it’s good. Why aren’t there taco stands like this in LA?

Melanie and Sky are on their way to the Maldives. Happy honeymooning you beautiful people! We have such a rad family.

these two are v. v. cute

Did anyone see this insanely adorable engagement shoot on Green Wedding Shoes?

You need to go see the whole thing here. Dying.
